Support Engineer III

Job Overview Summary

The Support Engineer III is a technical role in the security industry, responsible for managing and resolving the most complex security-related issues and providing strategic advice on security improvements. Engineers in this role will lead incidents, provide guidance to junior engineers, and help design solutions to prevent security breaches. They play a critical role in ensuring system stability and security.

What you'll be doing (and doing well):

• Provide tier-3 support for high-priority and complex security incidents
• Lead investigation and resolution of critical security breaches or vulnerabilities
• Mentor and provide leadership to junior support engineers
• Work closely with product development and engineering teams to resolve design or deployment issues
• Perform regular security audits and assessments of customer environments
• Assist in creating and updating security best practices and policies for clients
• Stay informed on emerging security threats and technologies and advise the organization on preventative measures
• Develop automation solutions for incident management and security monitoring
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What we like about you:

• A Sense of humor, creativity, and positive attitude
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Prior experience in IT security, network security, or technical support, with a focus on security technologies
• Deep understanding of security tools, protocols, and incident response methodologies
• Experience managing and troubleshooting complex security incidents and breaches
• Proven track record of leading technical teams and mentoring junior engineers
• In-depth knowledge of security compliance standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS, HIPAA)
• Relevant certifications, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), are required
• Proficiency in scripting or automation (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) is a plus
• Strong communication and documentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences

Pay Transparency Statement

The base salary range for this role is $70,100 - $109,600. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience and may vary from the amounts listed above. This position may also be eligible for a variable bonus in addition to base salary as well as health coverage, paid holidays, and other benefits.
