Accounts Payable Specialist
looking to make an impact within a fast-paced, dynamic finance team? We're seeking a detail-oriented professional to support a
special project
within our Finance department. This role requires either
hybrid work from our Nashville office
or
on-site presence in Johnson City (5 days/week)
.

What You'll Do

  • Process a
    high volume of invoices
    with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Review invoices, purchase orders, and packing slips for completeness, accuracy, and proper coding.
  • Manage
    3-way invoice matching
    in a manufacturing environment.
  • Resolve invoice and payment discrepancies through collaboration with internal teams and vendors.
  • Execute weekly payment runs in line with payment terms and schedules.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and address outstanding balances or credits.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries, providing timely and professional responses.
  • Maintain meticulous AP records and documentation.
  • Identify and implement
    process improvements
    to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Mentor and support junior AP team members.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years
    of experience in Accounts Payable or a similar accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of
    accounts payable principles, general ledger coding
    , and financial controls.
  • Proficiency in
    Microsoft Excel
    (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and experience with
    ERP systems
    .
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in the
    life sciences or biotechnology
    industries.
  • Experience in
    public companies
    and with
    Dynamics 365
    .
  • Familiarity with
    P2P systems
    such as
    Coupa
    or
    Tipalti
    .
  • Associate degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
