Delivery Driver/Customer Service

Growing established medical waste transportation and secure document destruction company based in Troy, MI is seeking a full-time route driver for our Troy, MI location to handle the Southeast Detroit and surrounding areas. Local service area, home every day. Workday start is 7 am, 4 and 5 day work schedules. Salary pay bi-weekly (40-hour week) with health benefits. Additionally, we offer year-end bonuses and annual pay raises based on employee performance. A mandatory drug test, DOT physical, and criminal background check is required prior to employment.
Job Duties will Include:
- Ensuring that customer's needs are met on a continual basis for various waste pickups and supply deliveries.
- Picking up and transporting waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
- Preparing and loading trucks to service accounts for the day, ensuring enough supplies are available.
- Picking up specified waste from each customer site scheduled for the day.
- Providing the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts on a daily basis and communicating any issues to the office for resolution.
- Ensuring that assigned paperwork is completed legibly, neatly, accurately, and completely and returned to the office for processing.
- Performing pre-trip and post-trip maintenance on assigned truck prior to leaving or closing for the day and reporting any maintenance problems to the office for follow-up.
Qualifications:
- Must be dependable.
- Must have a clean driving record with a recent DMV driving abstract that is less than 30 days old.
- Must have a chauffeur's driver's license.
- Must have a minimum of one year of commercial experience driving a straight/box truck or similar equipment.
- Must present a neat and well-groomed appearance and good customer skills.
- Must have a good knowledge of Metro Detroit areas and highways.
- Must be able to lift boxes and containers up to 50 lbs.
