With steady demand and a reputation for innovation, we are seeking a Plant Manager to take our production operations to the next level of professionalism, efficiency, and growth.

Position Summary

ThePlant Managerwill be responsible for overseeing all aspects of shop floor operations, including production, scheduling, purchasing, quality, safety, and maintenance. This role is critical in transitioning the shop from a family-style environment to a structured, professional, and scalable operation. The ideal candidate is hands-on, process-oriented, and skilled at motivating a small team while introducing systems for efficiency and accountability.

What you'll do

• Oversee daily operations of the plant, ensuring efficient production management and adherence to safety protocols.
• Implement and optimize production planning strategies using ERP systems and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) to enhance workflow.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives by applying Lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes and reduce waste.
• Utilize supply chain analytics to monitor inventory levels, manage supply chain management effectively, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Lead quality control efforts to maintain product standards and compliance with industry regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvement projects that enhance operational performance.
• Provide mechanical / electrical knowledge and support for troubleshooting equipment issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Foster a positive work environment that encourages team engagement, development, and high performance.

Basic qualifications

• Proven experience in plant management or a similar role within the manufacturing sector.
• Strong understanding of production management concepts, including assembly line operations and quality control measures.

Preferred qualifications

• Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems for effective resource planning and management.
• Experience with supply chain analytics tools to optimize inventory management.
• Demonstrated ability in operations management with a focus on process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in manufacturing management, preferably in machinery, food equipment, or custom fabrication.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and grow a small shop team.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, process improvement, and scaling operations.
• Working knowledge of fabrication, machining, assembly, and production workflows.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on mindset — willing to be on the floor when needed.

• Experience in the food processing equipment industry.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks, ERP/MRP systems, or shop scheduling tools.
• Spanish/English bilingual (a plus given workforce composition in many shops).
