CPG Business Intelligence Team Lead

We are seeking a commercially savvy and strategic CPG Business Intelligence Team Lead to join our Data & Analytics function. In this role, you will lead BI analysis, development, and delivery of high-impact, data-driven insights that support business performance, demand forecasting, trade promotion effectiveness, supply chain optimization, and overall go-to-market strategy. You will play a pivotal role in transforming raw data into actionable intelligence, driving value across sales, marketing, finance, operations, and category management functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the BI team in transforming data into actionable insights to drive strategic decisions and generate compelling narratives that best position our products with buyers
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Trade Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance) to gather requirements and deliver BI solutions that drive decision-making
  • Develop and maintain scalable data models and dashboards focused on key CPG metrics such as sell-in/sell-through, trade spend ROI, category performance, retailer scorecards, and demand forecasting
  • Oversee the integration and analysis of syndicated data sources (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, SPINS) and internal sales/retail data to provide a holistic view of market performance
  • Ensure BI solutions align with data governance, compliance, and CPG industry standards
  • Promote a data-driven culture by training business users and driving BI self-service adoption
  • Stay current with BI best practices and CPG trends, providing recommendations on tools, technologies, and methods

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Data Management, preferably within the CPG industry
  • 2+ years of experience leading or managing a BI/analytics team
  • Strong proficiency with BI and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large datasets, including POS, ERP, CRM, and syndicated data sources
  • Solid understanding of CPG operations, including sales channels, trade promotions, demand planning, and supply chain
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL pipelines, and modern data warehousing platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)

Preferred:

  • Experience with syndicated CPG data providers (e.g., NielsenIQ, IRI, Circana)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or R for advanced analytics
