Weekend Hours 7a-7p

Summary: The Scrub Technician, OR – Weekend shall be responsible to scrub on surgical procedures in all specialties performed in the Perioperative area. The Technician will be responsible to set up assigned cases, maintain a sterile field, and count appropriate items used during surgical cases. Additionally, this individual shall perform a variety of tasks such as care of instruments, supplies, sutures, needles, and basic equipment. The Technician will strictly adhere to all OSHA guidelines, safety, and infection control policies. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Education/Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent required. Hospital experience preferred in area of Surgical Services preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

CST preferred, BLS required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.

  • Strong team leadership skills, strong organization, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.

  • Must be able to meet strict deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, and excellent organizational skills.

  • Must be able to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to remain calm in difficult situations.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, proficient computer skills, proven track record of successful performance.

  • Ability to understand complex multifactor situations and bring appropriate solutions.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Understanding of aseptic technique and sterilization.
