Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our retail team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, managing transactions accurately, and supporting store operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be bilingual preferred, and have experience with POS systems. This position offers an opportunity to develop sales skills and gain valuable retail experience in a dynamic environment.

Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs
  • Operate POS systems efficiently for checkout transactions, returns, and exchanges
  • Handle cash, credit, and other payment methods accurately and securely
  • Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales
  • Conduct product demos when applicable to engage customers
  • Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves and organizing displays
  • Assist with inventory management including stock replenishment and merchandising
  • Provide product information and answer customer inquiries with professionalism
  • Support store cleanliness and organization to ensure a welcoming shopping environment
  • Supervise or assist less experienced team members as needed

Skills

  • Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
  • Strong customer service skills with excellent phone etiquette
  • Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and inventory counts
  • Experience in grocery or retail sales environments preferred
  • Bilingual communication skills are a plus to serve diverse customers effectively
  • Demonstrated ability in supervising or leading team members is advantageous
  • Effective merchandising, stocking, and product demonstration skills
  • Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with customers and team members
  • Basic math skills necessary for cashiering and retail calculations
  • Ability to upsell products tactfully to increase sales volume
