Rockford Toolcraft is looking for an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist We have an immediate opening available in our CNC department on our night shift. Our night shift is currently Monday - Thursday from 4:00 pm - 4:30 am (12 hours) with occasional Fridays from 3:30 pm - 8:30 pm (5 hours) as needed. The night shift is heavily incentivized with weekly attendance bonuses, shift premiums, and overtime paid after 8 hours every single shift

*The selected candidate will be required to complete training on our day shift. Current day shift hours are Mon - Fri from 5:00 am - 3:30 pm. The amount of time required to train will depend on the skill level of the candidate specifically, but would be approximately 4 - 6 weeks.

Our ideal candidate is 1.) a proficient CNC Programmer / Machinist, 2.) familiar with Hurco machining centers, 3.) knowledgeable in MasterCam (or similar programming software), experienced in part set up, and 4.) interested in weekly overtime We are also proud that we have NEVER had a layoff at Rockford Toolcraft

Our CNC Programmers / Machinists are responsible for their own part set up, programming (MasterCam), tool selection, quality checks, and communication with management and other departments. Duties could include adding responsibilities to help support the demands of a growing company.

We are a locally-owned family business and have been in business for 49 years. The CNC department directly supports our Tool and Die Makers, but also our production department. Much of the work completed by our CNC department is "one-off" and is not typically production runs. For that reason, our CNC Programmers / Machinists work closely with Engineering and other departments.

Duties could include supporting toolroom or stamping production through:

  • Creating and editing MasterCam programs

  • Complete part set up, tool selection, and quality checks without supervision or assistance

  • Troubleshooting and solving issues

  • Using CAD software

  • Maintaining professional communication with multiple departments and management

  • Being proficient at operating multiple work stations

  • Working with apprentices

  • Maintaining a clean work environment

  • Adding responsibilities, as needed, to meet demands of a growing company

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85, $95,000.00 per year
