Role and Responsibilities

The Porter / Housekeeper is an essential team member who helps create a safe, secure, and happy environment and the welcoming experience our members expect. In this role, you will perform high-quality upkeep and janitorial duties to keep the building in great condition, while communicating with members in a friendly and professional manner. You will work closely with the Building Operations team on small repairs and preventative activities. You'll have the opportunity to learn, practice, and apply new skills for the next steps in your career.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a safe and clean environment in the buildings and public areas, and correct or report any potential hazards, unsafe activity, or member concerns to building staff and/or local authorities
  • Follow our procedures and report any misconduct in the building, and any nuisance complaints or breach of safety. Report any access issues and follow protocol for lockouts
  • Complete scheduled and as-needed tasks to maintain cleanliness of the common areas, including lobby, hallways, elevators, and restrooms (mop, sweep, strip/wax/buff floors, dust, vacuum, and garbage removal)
  • When necessary, respond to emergency calls outside of normal business hours such as flood, fire, power loss, etc.
  • Assist in unit turnovers
  • Maintain property exterior maintenance and presentation; including snow removal
  • Learn and ensure compliance with all company procedures as well as local, state and federal safety rules
  • Complete shift handover report and checklist upon shift start and end
  • Familiarize yourself with and follow all DVORA Team procedures; in an emergency such as a fire alarm, stay calm and follow protocols to keep everyone safe
  • Assist fellow team members by swapping shifts, being flexible when coverage is needed; accept other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times, on or off property
