Works with business partners from various functional areas to build, implement and maintain reporting solutions and performance metrics that support the business needs of operations and corporate teams. Supports enterprise adoption of common, consistent measurements and reporting tools to encourage data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities:
  • Designs and builds enterprise-wide reporting and data analysis tools with general input and oversight from business users. Ensures reporting is in a useable format to determine trends, issues, or problem areas requiring root cause analysis.
  • Works with project teams and functional leaders to determine business reporting needs and requirements, develop and maintain appropriate documentation, and conduct data analysis projects to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Utilizes reporting tools and software such as Power BI, Excel, SSRS, and various data sources to develop reports that are easily understood by end-users. Provides training and coaching on these tools as necessary.
  • Reviews and analyzes data from multiple internal and external sources. Identifies data errors, discrepancies and reporting issues. Performs data analysis and communicates results and recommendations to business partners and leaders from various functional areas.
  • Identifies opportunities to create common and consistent reporting across multiple functional areas of business units whenever possible.
  • Updates, maintains, manipulates, and administers various reporting and database systems to ensure data accuracy and reporting continuity.
  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
Qualifications Job Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, Business, or related field of study.
Experience: 1-2 years experience with database queries, report writing, and data analysis. Practical experience supporting transportation operations or process improvement initiatives.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Candidate should have practical experience with business intelligence and analytic processes and methods. Experience using Microsoft Excel, SQL, Power BI, or other reporting tools in addition to MS Office Suite. Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methods, including Lean and Six Sigma. Must have experience participating in cross-fuctional projects in a variety of business settings and situations. Candidates must be able to analyze and document complex business processes, make effective decisions under pressure, think analytically, and be a problem solver by gathering and interpreting relevant data and information. Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and prioritize workload in a multi-task environment with little and remote supervision. Must have strong verbal and written communication and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups of people. Must be self-directed and self-motivated, with an ownership mentality and willingness to "roll up your sleeves" working at all levels of the organization.
