Chesapeake Bay Receptive is a dynamic tourism company based in Downtown Norfolk that specializes in curated travel experiences throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Working with group travel planners, cruise lines, and tour operators, our team crafts memorable, engaging excursions and multi-day trips for group travel to the area.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a creative and organized Part-Time Marketing Specialist to manage our company's digital presence, grow our visibility, and support ongoing marketing initiatives. The Marketing Specialist will play a key role in supporting the company's marketing, promotional, and content development efforts. This role involves working across digital platforms, coordinating with creative teams, and maintaining a consistent and compelling brand voice.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and a passion for tourism wouldn't hurt We are a small, young company in the tourism industry that is experiencing rapid growth and needs the Marketing Specialist to help standardize growth in our company, generate revenue, create ads, and expand our reach. This position reports directly to the CEO and offers room for growth.

Key Responsibilities: Digital Marketing & Content Management

  • Manage and update the company's Squarespace website with new content, tour descriptions, and visuals
  • Create and schedule Facebook Ads to promote upcoming tours and seasonal events, such as our haunted walking tours
  • Maintain and optimize the company's Google Business Profile for visibility and accuracy
  • Maintain a consistent brand presence across tourism listing platforms like Virginia Tourism Corporation, Visit Norfolk, Visit Virginia Beach, as well as other partner sites and related tourism directories
  • Assist in the launch and ongoing marketing of the company's new e-commerce website, including product promotion, ad buys, and strategic development
  • Support B2B marketing initiatives by developing targeted campaigns for key audiences.
  • Implement marketing automation tools to streamline processes and enhance customer engagement.

Tour & Scheduling Support

  • Create and manage our walking tours calendar on our website using FareHarbor
  • Create and manage Facebook Events for our walking tours (general social media management not required)

Content & Proposal Support

  • Write engaging copy for various platforms including websites, blogs, social media, and print advertising.
  • Proofread and polish tour proposals, itineraries, and promotional documents
  • Create or collaborate on profile sheets and sales materials for prospective clients

Design & Collateral

  • Interface with staff and graphic designers to create collateral such as flyers, social media graphics, digital brochures, and promotional collateral

CRM & Lead Management

  • Utilize HubSpot to send newsletters, track communications, manage leads, and support marketing campaigns

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
