Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist / Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service while ensuring the well-being of our animal patients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary staff.

Duties

  • Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, procedures, and treatments as needed.
  • Provide information to clients regarding pet care, medications, and treatment plans upon check out.
  • Handle laboratory samples with care, adhering to aseptic techniques.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the reception area and examination rooms to promote a hygienic environment.
  • Support kennel operations by caring for animals in boarding or recovery, including feeding, walking, and monitoring health status.

Experience

Candidates should possess a combination of the following skills and experiences and a desire to help people and pets:

  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care facility is preferred but not manditory. We are happy to rain in the right candidate.
  • Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures is essential.
  • Experience in animal husbandry, handling, and care for various species (including dogs, cats, and pocket pets).
  • Proficiency in front desk operations within a veterinary setting is an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 – 8 per week
