The Project Manager plans and tracks projects and customer production and NPI programs carried out by cross-functional teams starting with initial requirements and proposals all the way through production and supporting customers during post-launch activities. The ideal person must be able to communicate well, plan efficiently, build and maintain strong customer relationships, and be able to effectively work with multiple departments within the company. The candidate will bring experience with new product development (NPD) and non-recurring engineering (NRE) types of projects. The candidate must be a strong advocate for their customers and have experience with purchase orders, invoicing, forecasting, and working with operations for production scheduling.
Job responsibilitiesEssential Responsibilities for this role
- Project manage multiple types of projects including internal NPD and external NRE
- Coordinate new product launches to meet product release target dates
- Coordinate the engineering schedule, cost and technical inputs to support the various teams
- Responsible for margins for assigned NRE projects and positioning Beacon EmbeddedWorks (Beacon) for follow-on business
- Identify and communicate areas of risk and opportunity for Beacon in the following areas: design schedule, project cost, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction
- Facilitate logistics and time/cost management of assigned projects/programs
- Establish and manage a project plan from launch to full production release that reflects all the activities throughout Beacon?functional departments?
- Schedule, hold, and document team meetings per Beacon policy to assure that all significant project issues and tasks are identified, documented, and addressed
- Communicate effectively with customers on project updates including schedule, cost, purchase orders and invoices, risks, contingencies, and mitigations
- Execute on-time delivery of project activities across multiple concurrent projects
- Provide status updates to sales, engineering, product and operational management
- Ensure that the assigned projects follow the Beacon Quality Management System process and meet all required regulations including ISO 9001 and ISO 13485
- Document and manage project risks, actions, issues, and decisions (RAID)
- Author project documents, templates, and processes
- Ensure invoices are accurate and timely, and communicate with customers on current AR policies
- Work with functional management to assign team members to accounts/programs to meet project goals
- Support sales and business development with request for proposal (RFP) and request for quote (RFQ) activities for NPD, NRE and manufacturing quotes
- Responsible for maintaining and improving net promoter score (NPS) for assigned accounts

Requirements:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or higher certification
- 4+ years' experience in engineering project management activities
- Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook) desired
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong negotiation skills
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong sense of urgency, and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Experience with quality management systems in a manufacturing environment
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities to ensure superior customer satisfaction
- Desire to grow into additional responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with manufacturing and/or operations planning
- Experience managing external development teams
- Experience with regulated markets (e.g., medical, aerospace…)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- 2+ years' experience with production related activities ystems such as Intuitive, Empower, OpenAir or similar system

- This position will be on site at our Eden Prairie, MN location
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, that of an office environment. However, on some instances this job may require work in areas where eye protection is necessary

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position
- Typical day and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, but does allow for some flexibility
- It may be necessary to work more than 40 hours per week at times to produce the required results
Work Authorization
- The incumbent must meet the definition of "US Person" under ITAR/EAR regulations
