Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, medication administration, and other health-related data accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Support clients with mobility challenges or developmental disabilities by implementing specialized care techniques including dementia and Alzheimer's care strategies.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life while respecting their privacy and dignity.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe patient care practices, including aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
  • Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, basic life support (BLS), phlebotomy, and other clinical tasks under supervision.
  • Maintain detailed medical documentation, ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, and support continuity of care through accurate record-keeping.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in senior care, long-term care facilities, hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), or home & community care is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient safety protocols.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, behavioral health patients, individuals with disabilities or dementia-related conditions.
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS) or equivalent is preferred; additional certifications such as EMR/EHR systems proficiency (e.g., Cerner or eClinicalWorks) are a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as emergency medicine or urgent care settings.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
