Role Overview

The Data Program Lead drives cross-functional data initiatives and partners closely with the VP of Enterprise Systems to coordinate delivery, define business logic, and enable scalable solutions across critical domains such as Finance, Fund Accounting, and Private Equity. This hands-on leadership role requires technical fluency, program/project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with business and technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with the VP of Enterprise Systems and senior stakeholders to clarify program goals, requirements, KPIs, and business rules.
• Coordinate multi-stream data projects, ensuring priorities align with strategic objectives.
• Translate business needs into actionable data specifications and delivery plans.

Technical Leadership & Execution

• Perform hands-on analysis and prototyping in Azure Databricks, SQL, and Power BI as needed.
• Oversee and contribute to proof-of-concepts, validation tasks, and early-phase technical deliverables.
• Hand off technical specs and validated logic to the data engineering team for full solution development.

Program Delivery Management

• Track progress on all data initiatives, proactively managing risks and delivery blockers.
• Ensure data pipeline implementations align with defined logic and reporting requirements.
• Guide best practices for schema design, delta lake performance, and metadata management.
• Monitor testing, QA, and validation activities for data completeness and accuracy.
• Act as single point-of-contact for coordination across business, vendor, legal, and data teams
• Define data requirements and priorities with business owners
• Design scalable data models and architecture aligned with domain-specific data flows (e.g., Management Co., and Fund Accounting, Procure-to-Pay, etc.)
• Own project management: tracking progress, issues, scope, and stakeholder updates
• Manage weekly/bi-weekly leadership updates and status tracking

Governance & Documentation

• Maintain documentation of program objectives, business rules, data flows, data models, and lineage.
• Support metadata management, reporting, and enablement for platforms such as Power BI and OneStream.
• Provide regular updates to leadership on program milestones, progress, and dependencies.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years in data program management, data engineering, or analytics.
• Strong expertise with Azure Databricks, SQL, and Power BI ecosystems.
• Experience managing stakeholder expectations and coordinating cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking, detail orientation, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with data lake (Medallion) architectures and dimensional data modeling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, comfortable presenting to all audiences.
• Hands-on experience in data validation and technical prototyping.

Education:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• Certifications such as Azure Data Engineer, Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional is a plus.
