GlyCare is seeking an experienced Endocrine or Inpatient Diabetes Management NP or PA to serve as a Virtual Trainer during the final phase of our structured onboarding program for new providers.
The Virtual Trainer plays a pivotal role in ensuring that new GlyCare clinicians deliver safe, accurate, and guideline-driven inpatient glycemic management. This role involves conducting comprehensive chart reviews, providing real-time feedback, and supporting provider development through structured mentorship and performance tracking.
This is a fully remote, per diem contract position—ideal for an experienced clinician who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and promoting excellence in inpatient diabetes care.
Training Program Overview
New GlyCare providers complete a structured onboarding sequence:
- Weeks 1–4: Online education and learning modules
- Week 5: In-person, on-the-job training
- Weeks 6–9/10: Transition to virtual training with 100% chart review for 30 days
During this virtual training phase, the Virtual Trainer reviews every patient note written by the new provider, identifies deficiencies, and delivers real-time feedback to reinforce safe and effective care.
Responsibilities:
- Chart Review & Feedback
- Conduct daily chart reviews using the Chart Reviewer Checklist.
Provider Coaching & Support
- Deliver clear, actionable feedback following each chart review.
- Issue immediate alerts for any urgent or safety-related findings.
- Track provider competency over the 30-day review period.
- Ensure feedback integration and progressive improvement in documentation and clinical decision-making.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain structured chart review logs identifying deficiency types and root causes.
- Use standardized templates to track progress and highlight trends.
- Escalate recurring or high-risk issues to clinical leadership for follow-up support.
Collaboration & Quality Assurance
- Collaborate with team leads, senior clinicians, and leadership to uphold onboarding consistency.
- Contribute to ongoing refinement of GlyCare training materials and review checklists.
- Promote adherence to ADA standards, GlyCare protocols, and hospital policies.
- Evaluate accuracy, completeness, and safety of all consult and progress notes.
- Identify clinical and documentation deficiencies impacting patient care, billing, or compliance.
- Review contributing factors such as incomplete medication reconciliation, missing glucose trend analysis, or lack of attending documentation review.
Compensation & Workload
- Compensation: $500 per day
- Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
- Commitment: Minimum days per week to be agreed upon at contract start
- Caseload: Up to 3 new providers per day (to maintain quality and accuracy)
Qualifications:

- In-depth knowledge of hospital workflows, EMR systems, and inpatient documentation/billing.
- Strong ability to coach and mentor clinicians with professionalism and clarity.
- Excellent attention to detail, clinical judgment, and communication skills.
- Commitment to patient safety, evidence-based practice, and continuous improvement.
