Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller & Coder to join our busy healthcare administrative team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate data entry, and maintaining efficient financial records. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in medical billing and coding who are proficient in CollabMD software.

Duties

  • Prepare and submit accurate medical claims using CollabMD
  • Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) to diagnoses and procedures
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of payments and reimbursements
  • Perform precise data entry related to patient information, insurance details, and billing codes
  • Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve discrepancies with insurance providers or patients
  • Maintain organized records of billing transactions in compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Generate reports and assist with audits as needed
  • Communicate professionally with patients, insurance companies, and internal departments

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in medical billing and coding (minimum 2 years)
  • Hands-on experience with CollabMD (required)
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards
  • Familiarity with insurance claim processes and payer requirements
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Exceptional phone etiquette and communication skills to handle sensitive information professionally
  • Certification (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) preferred but not required
