Come work with the multidisciplinary engineers at the Valley Forge Site as a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer. Your focus will be on delivering world class Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) that supports a specific customer and the MGSE Organization. In this role, you will perform duties in design engineering, stress analysis, and drafting of tooling designs for both mechanical and electrical systems. You will participate in issue resolution, and develop solutions to technical problems of varying complexity while assuring sound technical content and timely closure.
Job duties include:
- Develop mechanical design solutions of varying complexity using solid models, detailed drawings, and release of engineering work products such as fixtures, gages, jigs, and equipment to support manufacturing processes.
- Interact with Manufacturing Engineering team on design and specification changes to ensure robust product designs and effective implementation
- Utilize 3D CAD (CREO) software to prepare tooling models, assemblies, and drawings
- Work with local Machine Shop and CNC Programming team to execute internal tooling builds
- Excellent communicator, self-starter and must have extreme attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Candidate must have good oral, written, and presentation communication skills
- Will work in an environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules
Basic Qualifications
Professional experience using a 3D CAD system (Creo, NX SolidWorks, etc.)
Experience with machine tool design, tool modification, or other mechanical design elements
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance, ship required
Desired Skills
- Experience throughout engineering lifecycle (system definition, design, build, test and operational deployment)
- Experience in relatable tooling and fixture design of a product line
- Experience in determining efficiencies, optimizations utilizing factory product and/or process data
- Experience working in cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues
- Experience with jigs and work holding fixtures
- Experience with Creo modeling
- Active Secret security clearance

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement
