Come work with the multidisciplinary engineers at the Valley Forge Site as a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer. Your focus will be on delivering world class Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) that supports a specific customer and the MGSE Organization. In this role, you will perform duties in design engineering, stress analysis, and drafting of tooling designs for both mechanical and electrical systems. You will participate in issue resolution, and develop solutions to technical problems of varying complexity while assuring sound technical content and timely closure. Must be a US Citizen; This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Job Duties Include

  • Develop mechanical design solutions of varying complexity using solid models, detailed drawings, and release of engineering work products such as fixtures, gages, jigs, and equipment to support manufacturing processes.
  • Interact with Manufacturing Engineering team on design and specification changes to ensure robust product designs and effective implementation
  • Utilize 3D CAD (CREO) software to prepare tooling models, assemblies, and drawings
  • Work with local Machine Shop and CNC Programming team to execute internal tooling builds
  • Excellent communicator, self-starter and must have extreme attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Candidate must have good oral, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Will work in an environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules

Desired Skills

  • Experience throughout engineering lifecycle (system definition, design, build, test and operational deployment)
  • Experience in relatable tooling and fixture design of a product line
  • Experience in determining efficiencies, optimizations utilizing factory product and/or process data
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues
  • Experience with jigs and work holding fixtures
  • Experience with Creo modeling
  • Active Secret security clearance
