Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing and processing financial transactions, ensuring accurate billing and collections within the medical field. This position requires a strong understanding of medical billing processes, coding, and terminology, as well as proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Process and manage accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Review and verify patient accounts for discrepancies in billing.
  • Utilize LCD, CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 to ensure proper billing practices.
  • Perform medical billing and collections tasks, including follow-up on outstanding payments.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
  • Utilize EMR and EHR systems for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
  • Stay updated on medical terminology and coding practices to enhance accuracy in billing processes.
  • Status outstanding accounts receivables.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a medical office setting is required.
  • Familiarity with medical coding (ICD coding) is essential.
  • Knowledge of medical billing procedures and collections processes.
  • Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for managing patient data effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients & attorneys regarding billing inquiries.
