Position Summary: Come work with the best patient base you could hope for in a high-quality Hematology/Medical Oncology provider group. Full Time Oncology Nurse Manager-Patient Care is needed for our practice based in Provo, UT with offices in Lehi, American Fork and Provo. Job duties include managing a team of support staff in monitoring and carrying out orders for excellent Hematology/Medical Oncology providers on behalf of their patients. Team to include Patient Care Coordinators (PCCs), Medical Assistants (MAs), Pharmacy Technicians and Financial Coordinators. This role oversees all order support and office functions including patient visits, patient support before and after treatments, and oral chemotherapy dispensing activities in an Accredited in-office dispensing pharmacy to contribute to excellent patient care. Ideal candidate is a motivated, hardworking individual who is devoted to delivering the highest quality care while driving patient satisfaction. Must be able to multi-task, have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to work both individually and as a part of a team. Leadership skills to include independent decision-making, analysis, policy and program development, problem and issue resolution. Proficiency in use of standard office computer programs and equipment is required. Position will be primarily based in Provo but will also need to travel and work from other office locations throughout Utah County.
Essential Job Functions:

- Provides leadership role model for excellent patient care, work ethic, integrity and attitude.
- Confidentially and professional manage patient and staff situations with a focus on driving successful outcomes.
- Continue personal continued education including obtaining and maintaining individual oncology nursing certification (OCN).
- Management/Supervision
- Manage/supervise assigned staff including interviewing/hiring, onboarding and training, management, scheduling, delegation of duties, annual reviews, counseling and corrective action activities as necessary.
- Oversee office support clinical staff in all aspects of their job including patient orders (drugs, labs, imaging, specialty testing, etc.), oral dispensing activities, protocols, documentation, quality efforts, etc.
- Holds regular nursing meetings for skills assessment, training, and communication.
- Keeps current on lectures or seminars available locally for continuing education.
- Maintains a current library of information on cancer and its treatment including support systems for patients.
- Ensures proper stocking and maintenance for non-infusion office medical equipment and supplies
- Participates in and oversees assigned quality efforts
- Actively participates in management meetings with administrator and other department leaders.
- Fulfills all duties as assigned.
- Manage/supervise assigned staff including interviewing/hiring, onboarding and training, management, scheduling, delegation of duties, annual reviews, counseling and corrective action activities as necessary.
- Treatments/Drugs
- Conducts ongoing study of new drugs and new protocols for existing drugs.
- Understands treatment protocols for new drugs based on NCCN guidelines.
- Reviews, develops and trains on Standard Operating Procedures as necessary.
- Develops and communicates protocols for oral chemo meds.
- Collaborates with other managers and staff to ensure comprehensive patient care including financial assistance.
Performs duties to ensure quality patient care for all patients.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license (will need UT licensure).
- Bachelor's Degree or 5 years of Oncology Experience.
- Maintain Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) - must obtain within 18 months of hire if not currently held.
