About the Role

We're looking for a Systems Generalist to help build the backbone of our AI systems — designing and coding the core infrastructure that enables reliable, autonomous agents to interact with the real world.

You'll work hands-on across all layers of the stack: building distributed systems, writing low-latency services, inventing new primitives that allow AIs to think, communicate, and act.

At our company, we're building neurosymbolic AI — combining symbolic reasoning with neural networks to create agents that are accurate, private, and capable of operating independently in complex environments. Today, we're focused on manufacturing; tomorrow, on enabling AI that can safely and intelligently interface with all human systems.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement novel AI backend systems — including new kinds of databases, memory systems, and protocols.
  • Expand AI access to real-world interfaces — connecting our systems to browsers, industrial software, and robotic platforms
  • Develop scalable internal services and APIs that other engineers and AIs build upon
  • Architect and code distributed data and event systems that support high-frequency agent reasoning and real-time decision making
  • Maintain reliability and observability across our infrastructure using modern DevOps practices
  • Continuously evolve system design to handle increasing complexity, autonomy, and scale

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years building and operating backend or systems-level software
  • Broad experience with backend systems, APIs, CI/CD
  • Deep experience coding in Python, Go, Rust, or similar languages
  • Strong understanding of databases, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture
  • Comfort with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar) and containerized environments. Strong experience in Azure is a plus.
  • Curiosity and creativity in system design — from database internals to networking protocols
  • Interest in AI systems, autonomy, or cognitive architectures (experience a plus, but not required)
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills
