**Position Description**

PROJECT ACCOUNTANT -- BELLINGHAM, WA

Duties
The **Project Accountant** is responsible for proactively working with project teams to ensure job cost and billing information is accurate and timely. Performs the following duties:

**Essential Functions**

**Budgeting and Cost Accounting**

  • Collaborate with project teams to develop project budgets to be imported into accounting system.
  • Enter and process job cost and budget adjustments.
  • Reconcile committed costs.

**Billing and Invoicing**

  • Coordinate with project teams to prepare accurate and timely client invoices.
  • Ensure invoices comply with contractual terms and client requirements.
  • Prepare T&M Billings and Billing Backup Reports
  • Record Accounts Receivable payments and monitor AR Aging reports.
  • File monthly and quarterly State Sales and Excise Tax Reports

**Project Closeout**

  • Lead the financial aspects of project closeout activities.
  • Verify all project costs and reconcile against contract billing rates and markups.
  • Prepare final financial reports and documentation for project completion.

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.

Understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the process of maintaining general ledgers.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
