Join our dynamic dental team as a Certified Dental Assistant, where your skills and passion for patient care will shine In this vital role, you will support our dental professionals in delivering exceptional care to patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry. Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and medical documentation will ensure smooth operations and a welcoming environment for our patients.
What you'll do
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Take and develop X-rays while adhering to safety standards and regulations, including HIPAA compliance.
- Manage patient records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Dentrix and Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate medical documentation.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-procedure care to promote overall dental health.
- Perform chairside assisting duties, including taking vital signs and preparing materials for procedures.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively.
- Utilize advanced technology such as 3D scanners for imaging and prosthodontics procedures.
Basic qualifications
- Certification as a Dental Assistant from an accredited program.
- Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding practices.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry settings.
- Familiarity with Epic systems for medical records management.
- Knowledge of endodontics and prosthodontics procedures is a plus.
