Our client, a well-known retail apparel company, is looking for a Freelance Merchant/Buyer for childrenswear.. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of direct merchandising experience working at an apparel manufacturer, retailer or marketer. Flexible Hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop product assortments that align with the brand's style and meet financial goals.
  • Analyze trends and competitor activity to create a consumer-focused product strategy.
  • Oversee collections and collaborations from concept to delivery, managing timelines and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to ensure products meet global and local market needs.
  • Present insights and updates on sales performance and product trends.
  • Maintain accurate product data and support system processes as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 4–5 years of experience in merchandising for apparel brands or retailers.
  • Proficiency in PLM software.
  • Understanding of garment design, construction, and costing.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to mentor and train team members.
