Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team at a well-established glass company with over 100 employees. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and accuracy of our organization through effective budgeting, cost control, reporting, and compliance with financial regulations.

As a key contributor to our operational success, the ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of manufacturing cost structures, and experience managing the day-to-day accounting activities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for preparing financial statements, maintaining general ledgers, overseeing accounts payable/receivable, supporting internal audits, and collaborating with department heads to align financial planning with strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis
  • Conduct financial report writing and interpretation for internal stakeholders
  • Oversee tax compliance and prepare necessary documentation
  • Execute payroll processing and ensure accuracy in employee compensation
  • Maintain the general ledger and perform journal entries as needed
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • Provide mentoring to junior accounting staff as needed
  • Collaborate on regulatory reporting and adherence to securities law requirements
  • Utilize various accounting software including QuickBooks, Quicken, PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, and others for efficient financial management

Experience

Candidates should possess the following skills:

  • Proficiency in financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, and financial analysis
  • Familiarity with technical accounting principles related to wills, trusts & estate law is advantageous
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes
  • Knowledge of private equity financing is beneficial
