About the Role:

As Consumer Lending Manager, you will oversee all aspects of consumer lending—including direct, indirect, and credit card portfolios—as well as the Collections department. You will ensure sound underwriting, efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and excellent member service. This role also involves managing dealer relationships, monitoring portfolio performance, and supporting the Credit Union's growth and risk management goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations of consumer and indirect lending programs.
  • Oversee loan origination, underwriting, funding, and servicing to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen dealer relationships; monitor performance and profitability of indirect lending.
  • Supervise collections activities to minimize delinquency and loan losses.
  • Review and approve complex loans and exceptions within authority limits.
  • Ensure compliance with Credit Union policies and lending regulations (NCUA, Reg B, TILA, FCRA, etc.)
  • Coach, train, and develop lending and collections staff.
  • Monitor portfolio trends, delinquency, and charge-offs; provide regular performance reports to the AVP of Lending.
  • Recommend improvements to lending policies, products, and processes to enhance efficiency and member satisfaction.
  • Provide support and collaborate directly with the AVP of Lending.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of consumer lending experience, including 2+ years in management or supervision.
  • Experience managing or participating in an indirect lending program.
  • Strong knowledge of lending regulations, underwriting, and collections practices.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with LOS systems, indirect platforms (e.g., RouteOne, DealerTrack, CRIF), and core processing systems.
