Job Description

The Regional Director, Retail is fiscally responsible for oversight and execution of monthly sales plan achievement, bi-yearly inventory results and overall brand standards and operational efficiencies in all Shops in his/her designated territory. They are responsible for staffing positions and training all Managers and Associates to operate Shops according to standard. Directs and motivates the sales team in their territory to ensure the highest level of customer service to each and every Equinox member and guest.

The Regional Director, Retail also takes direction from the Retail Corporate team and their club management partners on business strategy and action plans, assisting them in ensuring maximum productivity and compliance with all company policies and procedures within their individual territory.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

TALENT MANAGEMENT:

  • The Regional Director, Retail is the designated point-person for coaching, training and developing both new and tenured District Shop Managers, Area Shop Managers, Shop MODs and Associates in their territory
  • Recruits and maintains a staff that reflects the needs of the business
  • Trains, coaches and develops all levels of Shop staff
  • Creates a succession plan within the Region

SALES & SERVICE:

  • Achievement of assigned monthly sales goals for their Region
  • Coaches and develops District Shop Managers, Area Shop Managers, MODs and Shop Associates in selling tactics, tools and understanding key business metrics
  • Ensures an unparalleled customer experience for all Equinox members and guests
  • Acts in the best interest of the Member when resolving issues
  • Maintain knowledge of all club and Shop services, programs and products
  • Understands the Member and Demographic of each Club in their territory
  • Personally engages in his/her clubs' communities, and helps his/her Shop teams do the same

COMMUNICATES EFFECTIVELY

  • Engages the Shop Teams in a manner that is respectful, professional, inspirational and motivating
  • Imparts a point of view on company conference calls and during meetings/presentations
  • Ability to effectively share vision and point of view with his/her team and gain the their enthusiasm to ensure follow through
  • Provides global feedback and offers possible solutions to Retail Corporate team, and to club business partners
  • Keeps the all relevant parties abreast of Corporate communication through timely emails and verbal discussion

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE:

  • Understands and upholds all loss prevention and inventory management policies on a consistent basis, and ensures total team adherence to these same policies
  • Utilizes reporting to gain knowledge of the business and meets/exceeds trends and expectations
  • Understands how to make strategic moves based on reporting
  • Ensures both personal and team comprehension of all communication and training materials, and timely/accurate completion of all assigned operational tasks
  • Performs timely/holistic, formal and informal Shop Visit Audits

PRODUCT & PRESENTATION

  • Ensures that both The Shop and the Shop staff is reflective of the company brand standards; i.e., through proper execution of merchandising and marketing direction, good housekeeping and organizational standards, and through adherence to The Shop dress code
  • Enforces and maintains excellent housekeeping and organizational standards on sales floors, at cash wraps and in stockrooms
  • Ensures Shops within Area are visually enticing by adhering to stated standards, and through partnership with club business partners and the Retail Corporate team

  • Seeks creative solutions to challenges
  • Adapts management style as needed based on audience
  • Understands how to spend time with each Shop efficiently and effectively, and implements best practices in personal scheduling

  • Maintains working knowledge of happenings and general standards and practices outside of The Shop, in other departments to encourage camaraderie and team spirit

Qualifications

To successfully perform in this role, the individual should meet the following minimum requirements and qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential functions of the job
  • Multi Store/Store Manager experience preferred
  • Proven leadership ability, and the ability to take direction
  • Experience in a customer service business; preferably in retail
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in order to relay product knowledge and services
  • Basic computer skills and retail math knowledge
  • Hardworking and diligent, possessing both honesty and personal integrity
  • Excellent time management, organizational, problem solving and communication skills
  • Ability to utilize new techniques and ideas
  • Be available to work a varied schedule, based on the needs of our unique retail business
  • Physical requirements: lift/carry/move 40 lbs minimum including fixtures and product
  • Ability to actively supervise a sales floor
  • Able to travel to other Shops within the territory

Pay Transparency: Min $90K - Max $95K
