Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in providing comprehensive patient care, focusing on preventive health measures, diagnosis, and treatment of various medical conditions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and be adept at managing a diverse patient population, including children and seniors.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on clinical evaluations.
  • Administer medications, including IV infusions and injections, while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations and procedures such as suturing, catheterization, and spinal taps.
  • Manage acute pain and provide treatment for chronic conditions in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for accurate documentation of patient information.
  • Engage in telehealth services to extend care accessibility to patients.
  • Provide education on health management, nutrition, and wellness to patients and their families.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance patient care practices.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of medical records.

Qualifications

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license with relevant certifications.
  • Experience in primary care settings; familiarity with urgent care, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine is preferred.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical documentation practices.
  • Strong clinical skills in areas such as geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, infectious disease care, and pain management.
  • Previous experience with assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care settings is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of telehealth practices and experience with EMR/EHR systems is required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while providing compassionate patient-centered care.
