Join our local company to provide short-term maternity leave coverage with a fabulous school district in North Georgia, approximately 15 minutes from Chattanooga, TN This flexible, temporary position starts at the first of January and continues through April serving preschool aged students in a supportive school district.

If you are seeking a short-term, low-commitment position, this is the role for you Haynes Therapy Group has an open position and is seeking a passionate, experienced SLP to fill a short-term maternity leave position from January through April 2025 in Walker County, GA with preschool aged students. The primary responsibilities of this SLP will be to provide individual and small group speech therapy sessions, complete initial eligibility evaluations, and schedule and lead associated meetings while the current SLP is on maternity leave. The position entails traveling between local daycare facilities within the school day with a home base in Chickamauga, GA. The ideal candidate will have school-based experience with strong communication and organization skills. The district offers training regarding the paperwork systems as well as ongoing support through. This is a fabulous opportunity for a private practice owner building their caseload, a parent seeking a short-term commitment, or a retired SLP wanting to maintain their skillset. While this is a short-term assignment, we anticipate having other local and teletherapy based roles open around the end date that the candidate could potentially transition to if desired as well as potential to renew for next school year.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Related Field
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • Georgia SLP License
  • School based experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preschool speech and language screenings and evaluations, analyze results, and write reports outlining the student's strength and concerns in the areas of speech and language
  • Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to best suit the child's functional communication needs
  • Provide high-quality direct speech therapy services in individual and small group settings in accordance to the child's IEP
  • Collect and monitor student progress for timely completion of progress reports and billing
  • Maintain detailed log of services, student attendance, and communication with families
  • Attend meetings to collaborate with parents and teachers regarding provision of services and accommodations
