Position description

Associates serve our clients by:

Audit

·       

Understanding clients' needs and expectations, their business and industry, accounting and control systems, employees, company values and industry related GAAP and GAAS issues

·

Developing an understanding of the firm's audit approach and tools

·

Assessing risks and evaluating the clients internal control structure

·      

Performing substantive tests and tests of controls to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues

·

Drafting financial statements under prescribed formats

·

Thompson Reuters Engagement Manager audit software experience is a plus

Tax

·

Works with team to prepare and learn to review tax returns

·

Completes research and special projects as needed

·      

Handles routine client tax questions and works with clients to collect necessary information for tax return completion and compliance

·

Provides timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations

·       

Recognizes and informs senior management of opportunities to increase level and types of services to clients

·       

Ensures professional development through ongoing education and obtaining additional certifications as appropriate

·       

Stays informed about firm capabilities other than tax compliance area, and promotes these activities to clients where appropriate

hompson Reuters UltraTax software experience is a plus

Basic Qualifications:

·

Bachelor's degree in accounting

·

0-10 years of public accounting audit and tax experience

·

Excellent written and verbal skills

·

Highly developed problem solving and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications:

·

CPA certification or on track

·

3+ years of public accounting audit and/or tax experience

·     

Experience working with clients across industries such as non-profit, government, real estate, and construction.
