We're partnering with a fast-growing manufacturing organization that's looking to bring on a hands-on, detail-oriented Controller to lead all accounting operations as the company continues to scale. This is a high-impact role where you'll oversee financial reporting, cost accounting, and internal controls while working closely with senior leadership to strengthen processes and support data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements prepared under U.S. GAAP
  • Supporting SEC reporting requirements (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, XBRL) and quarterly earnings release prep
  • Managing internal and external audits under PCAOB standards and maintaining a SOX-ready control environment
  • Leading all core accounting functions: GL, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, intercompany, and cost accounting
  • Owning cost accounting and inventory controls across production lots, WIP, and material flow
  • Building, documenting, and enforcing internal controls and standard operating procedures
  • Driving budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, providing clear insights to leadership
  • Partnering with operations to improve production and inventory reporting through the ERP system
  • Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax and regulatory requirements
  • Identifying opportunities to automate and enhance accounting processes using technology and AI tools
  • Mentoring and developing the accounting team to support growth and cross-functional collaboration

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or Master's is a major plus)
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience in manufacturing or public company experience strongly preferred
  • Strong background in cost accounting, inventory, and ERP environments
  • Solid understanding of GAAP; exposure to SEC reporting
  • ERP proficiency; Netsuite or SAP experience is highly preferred
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills; comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and a mindset geared toward continuous improvement
