Windows Server Assistant - Full Time

The Minnehaha Country Club is celebrating our 120th year of operations, and we are currently seeking passionate and team-oriented restaurant professionals to join our team. Minnehaha Country Club operates two full-service, year-round restaurants, as well as a robust on-site catering/events operation. With some forecasted turnover we have opportunities in both our formal and casual restaurants. The positions are available immediately for the successful candidate. Minnehaha Country Club is Sioux Falls' premier country club, operates year-round and serves membership of approximately 740 families. The Club features an immaculate championship 18-hole golf course and several of the finest restaurants in the region, as well as swimming, tennis, and fitness amenities.

Our Windows Server Assistant will report to the Windows Manager and assist the windows service staff with executing food & beverage service for Minnehaha's members. Applicants must have open availability and preferred experience in banquets or a diverse background in culinary.

Compensation and Benefits

• Windows Server Assistants have a starting salary of $15.00 hourly.
• This position would also work occasional Expo shifts as needed - starting wage for those shifts $18.00 hourly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists Servers in their set-up, service and clean-up tasks.
• Serves water as members and guests are seated.
• Assists in carrying food trays to tables.
• Removes soiled dishes from table; brings to dish-washing area.
• Removes soiled linen and replaces with clean linen.
• Sets tables with silverware, glassware and other items.
• Stocks servers' station with supplies.
• Collects trash from dining room and other specified places after each serving period.
• Dusts chairs before and after meals.
• Keeps ice bins and buckets filled.
• Cleans and stores child high chairs and booster seats.
• Collects soiled linen from dining room; transfers to linen pick-up area.
• Takes packaged take-out orders to reception stand for member pick-up.
• Folds napkins and bread basket linens.
• Cleans-up spills, broken service ware and attends to similar problems during service with minimal disruption to diners.
• Polishes silver service items.
• Attends pre-service training (line-up meeting).
• Moves tables and chairs as needed for the next member and guest diners.
• Re-sets tables at end of shift for the next meal period.
• Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Experience and Abilities

• Must have good communications skills and a dynamic, outgoing personality.
• Follows all club guidelines pertaining to table setting, order taking and sequence of service.
• Good organizational and follow-through skills.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
• Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
• Continuous repetitive motions.
• This is a typical professional kitchen work environment, which may be hot, humid, and noisy.
• Some outdoor work required as dictated by specific events.

• Some local travel required.
