Overview
Since its founding in 2004, Central Texas Neurology Consultants (CTNC) has been providing innovative, advanced care for patients and families with a wide range of brain, spine, nerve and muscle disease. We aim to promote health and education as we support our patients, caregivers, family members, healthcare providers and community. We want the best for our patients, which is why we conduct clinical research to extend the knowledge and treatment of neurological disorders.
To provide patients with the highest level of care, every care plan is tailored at their unique needs and preferences. Our collaborative team structure includes award-winning board-certified neurologists, nurse practitioners, nurses, researchers, and physical therapists.
Located in Round Rock, Texas, CTNC enjoys the benefits of a vibrant community just 20 miles north of Austin. Round Rock features excellent schools, diverse recreational activities, and a welcoming atmosphere, while Austin's cultural richness, including music, art, and dining, is easily accessible. You'll enjoy an enriching lifestyle and be part of a collaborative healthcare team dedicated to making a difference in patients' lives
Position Overview
Why This Role Matters
Clinical research at CTNC puts you in the middle of where neurology is moving next. As a Nurse Practitioner working in research, you step into a space that blends hands-on patient care with the kind of influence most clinicians don't get in traditional practice.
You will collaborate directly with board-certified neurologists, scientists, and seasoned research professionals, giving you exposure to the newest therapies and approaches before they reach broader practice.
This kind of work often positions NPs as thought partners in the development of evidence-based care, and many clinicians who move into research find their professional visibility growing through publications, presentations, and leadership opportunities.
The work itself stays meaningful and patient-centered. You will help shape protocols that can improve outcomes for future patients while supporting the individuals sitting in front of you today. The environment is dynamic and intellectually stimulating, with new studies, new methodologies, and continuous learning baked into the role.
For an NP who wants to deepen clinical expertise, expand professional impact, and be part of a team driving real advancement in neurological care, this is a strong next step. We will train the right clinician who aligns with our values.
Education & Experience
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner
- Active license to practice as an FNP in the State of Texas is preferred
- Minimum 2 years' clinical experience in neurology, internal medicine, family medicine, or a related field.
- Prior clinical research experience is ideal but not required. We will train a motivated clinician with strong assessment skills and attention to detail.
- Comfort with protocol-driven environments and structured workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Evaluate potential participants and identify who may qualify for study enrollment.
- Perform focused physical and neurologic exams required for each study.
- Support patients through the visit, answer questions, and monitor for safety concerns.
Visit Execution & Documentation
- Follow study instructions for each visit and ensure all required steps are completed.
- Document assessments clearly and accurately in the EMR and study systems.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with research coordinators and clinical staff to keep visits running smoothly.
- Communicate updates or concerns to supervising investigators and study leadership.
Training & Development
- Complete study-specific training provided by sponsors.
- Participate in occasional meetings or trainings related to active studies.
What We Offer
We believe excellent patient care starts with clinicians who feel supported and energized in their work. Our goal is to be the best place for providers to build long-term, meaningful careers.

We offer two employment structures depending on your availability and interest:
Full-Time (Salaried)
- Base salary starting at $120,000, depending on experience
- Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage

- Generous PTO and paid holidays
Part-Time (Hourly)
- Hourly rate starting at $60/hour, based on experience
