Nurse Practitioner Role Summary

The Nurse Practitioner Infusion functions as an independent contractor and a key advanced clinical partner to HAVN Infusion Therapy. This role provides comprehensive infusion and injection therapy services to patients in accordance with physician orders, scope of practice for Nurse Practitioners, professional standards, and all applicable regulations.

As an independent advanced practice provider, the Nurse Practitioner upholds HAVN's mission of compassionate, precise, and patient focused care. This role requires advanced clinical expertise, autonomous decision making, and exceptional professionalism. Nurse Practitioners represent HAVN's commitment to safe, reliable, and high quality care in every patient interaction.

Scope of Services

Perform advanced specialty infusion and injection therapy independently in home or alternate site settings according to established clinical standards and Nurse Practitioner scope of practice

Provide comprehensive wound care services including assessment, treatment planning, debridement as appropriate, dressing selection, and ongoing wound progression management

Assess patients prior to each infusion or wound care visit to determine clinical readiness and identify potential risks or contraindications

Verify physician orders, patient identity, and medication integrity before administration

Initiate, manage, and adjust infusion and wound care treatment plans as clinically appropriate within scope

Monitor patient condition during and after infusion and throughout wound care treatment, intervening as necessary for adverse reactions, complications, or changes in clinical status

Clinical Accuracy and Safety

Utilize expert aseptic technique, vascular access management, and medication handling practices

Ensure compliance with all infection prevention protocols and manufacturer instructions for use

Maintain advanced clinical documentation in AlayaCare reflecting assessment findings, interventions, and follow up care

Adhere to all HAVN clinical protocols and evidence based standards

Patient Education and Experience

Provide advanced patient and caregiver education regarding treatment plans, medication expectations, side effects, and long term care strategies

Support informed consent through clear explanation and shared decision making

Ensure each patient encounter reflects empathy, professionalism, and clinical precision

Promote HAVN's culture of dignity, trust, and compassionate care

Coordination and Communication

Collaborate closely with administrative team to ensure continuity of care

Maintain timely, accurate, and professional communication regarding patient status, scheduling needs, clinical changes, and outcomes

Represent HAVN Infusion Therapy with integrity and professionalism in all patient and partner interactions

Professional Accountability

Functions as an independent contractor and advanced practice provider, assuming full responsibility for clinical judgment, scheduling, and tax obligations

Practices within Texas Nurse Practitioner scope and current regulatory requirements

Seeks guidance from HAVN leadership when needed to ensure alignment with organizational and patient care expectations

Maintains strict professional boundaries, ethical conduct, and patient confidentiality

Demonstrates reliability, accountability, and commitment to excellence in patient care delivery

Qualifications

Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Texas

Current national Nurse Practitioner board certification

Minimum of three years of Nurse Practitioner experience in infusion therapy, acute care, emergency, or high acuity clinical environments

Demonstrated expertise in IV therapy, vascular access management, and advanced clinical assessment

Current Basic Life Support certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred

Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills

Must maintain personal professional liability insurance with active proof of coverage

Must have reliable personal transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance

Contract Terms and Conditions

Functions as an independent contractor and is not an employee of HAVN Infusion Therapy

Contractor is responsible for all taxes, insurance, and business related expenses

Contractor maintains control over how professional services are performed provided that care meets established clinical and ethical standards

Contractor must maintain all professional credentials, licensure, and liability insurance for the duration of the engagement

The relationship may be terminated by either party according to the terms outlined in the Independent Contractor Agreement
