Position Summary

The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources department. This role assists with recruitment, onboarding, employee file maintenance, benefits support, and general HR operations. The HR Assistant ensures accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism in all interactions and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with full-cycle onboarding, including document collection, background checks, credential verification, and orientation coordination.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant employee and contractor files (electronic and physical), including licenses, certifications, and training records.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR processes, policies, and basic benefits information.
  • Assist with recruitment activities such as posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Help monitor expiring licensure and credentialing documents and coordinate renewals with staff.
  • Support the HR Business Partner and Recruitment in projects involving compliance, audits, data reporting, and employee engagement.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Perform general administrative duties such as filing, correspondence, scheduling, and record updates.
  • Assist with offboarding tasks, including equipment returns, separation documentation, and exit paperwork.

Qualifications Required:

  • 1–3 years of administrative or HR support experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office .
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in healthcare, corrections, or government contracting.
  • Experience using HRIS systems (e.g., Rippling, ADP, Paycom, Workday).
  • Familiarity with employment law and HR best practices.
  • SHRM/ PHR certified
