Staff Analytics Engineer

We're building AI powered Shopify for service businesses. We help service pros (e.g., roofers, landscapers, painters, cleaners) acquire direct business, fast. Up and running within minutes using Gen AI, our digital storefront products help pros get discovered, trusted, and booked repeatedly.
Topline Pro is co-founded by Nick Ornitz (CEO) and Shannon Kay (CPO) with an excellent team of 80+ rockstars with plans to expand more in 2025. We serve thousands of local service businesses and were named as one of the 2023 and 2024 top 50 Tech Companies building for SMBs.
We're YC-backed and well funded with several years of runway, and we've experienced rapid growth in the past year. We're in a phenomenal position to scale—with the financial foundation, product-market fit, and momentum to go big. You'll be joining at an inflection point—where the groundwork is laid and the path to massive impact is clear.
We believe "great candidates" do not come about through simply a checkmark next to past experiences. We believe in hiring people not just skills. Even if you do not check every box but find excitement at the prospect of working with us in this capacity, please apply.
Role SummaryWe're hiring a Staff Analytics Engineer to take ownership of how data is modeled, organized, and scaled at Topline Pro. You'll be responsible for building the data assets that sit at the core of our business—turning information from systems like Stripe, Twilio, Dialpad, Salesloft, HubSpot, and others into clean, trustworthy data models. Your work will give teams across the company confidence in the numbers and the ability to make better, faster decisions.
This is a senior, hands-on role at the intersection of engineering, analytics, and business strategy. You'll shape the way data flows through the company and ensure we have the right foundation to measure performance, experiment, and grow.
What you'll doOwn and champion centralized data assets that serve as the source of truth for answering the company's most important operational questions.
Develop scalable, well-designed data models in dbt and Snowflake that enable performant analysis across SaaS-scale datasets.
Work deeply with Stripe data to ensure accurate modeling of payments, subscriptions, revenue, and related financial flows.
Codify and democratize best practices for SQL optimization, query reusability, and reporting, ensuring consistency and efficiency across the team.
Define and enforce team-wide standards for coding, documentation, testing, monitoring, and code reviews to keep our pipelines robust and maintainable.
Lead the technical execution of high-complexity BI and analytics projects, taking them from design through to production.
Design scalable data architectures with strong modeling practices, clear governance, and a focus on data quality.
Collaborate with teams across the business—from engineering and product to sales and customer success—to understand their needs and deliver high-impact solutions.
8+ years of experience working as a Analytics Engineer, BI Engineer, Data Visualization Engineer or related role
Direct experience working in SaaS or closely related industries (e.g., cloud platforms, cybersecurity, productivity software, etc.)
Extensive experience in Snowflake and dbt
Deep knowledge of advanced SQL concepts, including window functions, CTEs, and nested queries
Strong understanding of Stripe data models (i.e, payments, subscriptions) and how to build reliable analytics from them
Hands-on experience with BI/visualization tools (Hex, Looker, or similar)
Proven track record of building centralized fact tables and data systems that are efficient, reliable, and scalable
Mindset focused on accuracy, clarity, and usability—creating systems that make data meaningful and easy to trust
Have experience with Heap or similar product analytics tools
Are familiar with RevOps and CX data stacks (HubSpot, Salesloft, Twilio, Dialpad)
Bring previous startup or high-growth SaaS experience
At Topline Pro, we're not just hiring for skills — we're hiring people who embody our core values in how they work, collaborate, and build. Here's what that looks like in this role:
No Bullsh*t: You value clarity, directness, and real impact. You speak plainly, cut through complexity, and focus on what matters. You don't posture — you solve. Your work and communication are honest, transparent, and rooted in what's best for the team and our customers.
Think Big, Learn Fast: You're energized by ambitious goals and unafraid to tackle messy, ambiguous problems. You take an iterative approach — testing, learning, and improving quickly. You value momentum over perfection and believe that learning happens fastest through building and doing.
One Team, One Dream: You win by working together. You collaborate with empathy, celebrate shared wins, and show up for your teammates — especially when things get hard. You believe trust, respect, and shared ownership are the foundation of great teams.
Empower Every Voice: You seek input from others and value different perspectives — especially when building systems that serve multiple teams. You communicate clearly, listen actively, and make it easy for others to contribute. You care about outcomes that serve everyone, not just your lane.
Be an Owner: You take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks. You act in the company's best interest — driving meaningful results, moving with urgency, and treating every dollar and decision like it's your own. You don't wait for permission; you see problems and take action.
BOOM: You take pride in doing great work and lift others up when they do the same. You believe celebration fuels momentum. Whether it's a major launch or a quick win
