Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Day Services Manager, the Day Services Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of their assigned day center to ensure the quality of programming, safety and wellbeing of all individuals served. The Supervisor is able to delegate responsibilities but understands he/she is responsible for all areas, supervision, personal care, and welfare of individuals served, ensuring all Vista Care policies and procedures are being followed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall quality of services provided and in implementation of Vista Care mission within their designated location and in partnership with and under the direction of the Day Services Manager.
- Monitor the overall quality of the assigned program(s). Ensure timely corrective actions when quality problems are identified.
- Responsible for assisting in and/or the planning and coordination of daily personal cares, personal hygiene, medical needs, diabetic and nutritional requirements, activities and field trips. Also, individual support and transportation requirements of the participants at all times while they are under the care and supervision of Vista Care Day Service Programs.
- Assist in or develop activities and techniques that can increase the quality of life for all individuals attending.
- Required to report all incidents involving aggression, behavioral intervention, medical situations or treatments relating to staff or individuals, any pertinent information to the Residential Manager in a timely manner.
- Arrange for staff coverage approved vacations or requested days off
- Participates in conducting staff meetings with Residential Manager.
- Generating reporting/info for Billing and Census on a daily basis
- Oversee development and execution of the Activity/Outing Calendar
- ISP development and implementation, along with ensuring proper documentation is completed for all ISP programs and health care tracking for individuals served.
- Reviews employee time cards, correcting issues, tracking attendance and addressing employee concerns when necessary.
- Update and oversee all information on each individual to keep it up to date.
- Create ISP Programs in Therap that align with the goals that have been developed with the team at the annual ISP meeting.
- Is responsible for communicating with all members of the team in regards to changes of condition, incidents etc. for our individuals and ensuring the appropriate documentation is completed in a timely manner.
- Work and maintain a flexible schedule, provide direct care and emergency coverage when required for both staffing and routes
- Initiate and maintain contact with the person served, family and support team members.
- Ensures oversight of and active involvement in the development of the Individual Support Plan (ISP) including but not limited to:
- Participation in the assessment and transition of referrals to residential programming.
- Participation in the interdisciplinary team process.
- Monitoring of goals, objectives, and program development.
- Monitoring the implementation of the ISP.
- Evaluation of programmatic progress and effectiveness including the medical, physical, psychological and social needs of residents as necessary.
Provide feedback on assessment of services to the Residential Manager on a regular basis.

PERSONNEL
Maintains responsibility for the supervision of staff placed under their direction while on duty at the program location.
Provides direct supervision and oversight to staff, including monitoring of performance, provision of feedback, evaluation, disciplinary action, timecard approval, etc.
- Ensures staff schedules adhere to approved budgeted hours and assure overtime is kept within accepted targets in partnership with the Residential Manager.
- Ensures compliance with all personnel policies and conditions of employment. Provides direction to personnel to ensure that quality assurance procedures are being met or exceeded.
- Ensures that all staff are working within the company policies and are trained to care for all persons served according to the ISP and within their medical, physical, psychological and social needs.
- Ensures the staff placed under their direction is responding positively to the requests and choices of the individuals. Confirms individual needs and requirements are being met within their staffing agreements and individual service plans.
- Provides continued coaching and support; monitoring performance on a regular basis in partnership with Residential Manager.
SUPERVISION
- Works cooperatively as part of the organization's supervisory team in partnership with other members of area leadership to:
- Keep staff informed of issues and situations in this field, support services, and the community that may affect the program and/or organization.
- Assure all policies and procedures are followed.
- Train staff on resident needs and procedures.
- Be responsible for the daily operation of assigned day facilities according to state/ federal regulations.
PROFESSIONALISM AND LEADERSHIP
- Provides leadership and direction in promoting the concepts, beliefs, and purposes of the program and organization.
- Assure that the philosophy, policies, procedures and protocols established by Vista Care are fulfilled and consistently adhered to.
- Practice sound management techniques and principles in carrying out all responsibilities.
- Represent the organization in a professional and responsible manner to personnel, outside agencies, and the community.
- Promote a positive, supportive attitude toward individuals served, personnel, guardians, and the organization, designed to increase overall customer satisfaction.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must successfully complete all certification and training requirements within the assigned state(s) of operation within 90 days of hire.
- Valid driver's license and clear driving record in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and Vista Care's best practices
- Experience in human services, customer service, or a related field preferred
- Prior experience in residential services and supports for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
- Clear background check in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and Vista Care's best practices
- Consistently demonstrate effective decision-making abilities, strong communication skills, and computer literacy.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- A college, or university degree or the equivalent is preferred. Social services or similar fields preferred.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Prompt and regular attendance is a requirement.
- Ability to lift at least fifty (50) pounds on a routine basis to assist with individuals supported.
- Ability to bend, twist, lift, reach and assist individuals supported with their movements including their ability to stand up.
- Variable weekly hours to support operational needs including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Required to work in residential settings and/or day programs.
Driving Requirement:
The Day Services Supervisor is required to use their own vehicle or those owned and/or leased by Vista Care This responsibility may include transporting persons served. A valid driver's license and level of personal liability insurance as required by Vista Care must remain in effect at all times.
