Zokos is an online reseller providing an eco-friendly solution to home goods and building supplies returned to big-box retail stores. Every year, an estimated 5 billion pounds of eCommerce returns are directed into landfills. We're tackling this problem head-on by giving these products a second life through efficient processing and resale. Our customers get access to high-quality products at a fraction (20–50% off, on average) of retail prices, while helping to reduce environmental waste.

We operate from our headquarters in South Bend, IN, and have developed rScan, a proprietary software system to process, track, post, and resell our inventory. As we grow, we're seeking motivated team members who want to make a real difference while growing their skills in a startup environment.

Job Summary

The Customer Service Representative will be the first point of contact for Zokos customers. This role is responsible for providing excellent service through timely communication, order assistance, returns coordination, and resolving customer concerns. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and enthusiastic about working with a growing company that values environmental responsibility and innovation.

Key Responsibilities - Customer Support

  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries via email, phone, and chat.
  • Provide accurate information on product availability, order status, returns, and shipping.
  • Maintain a professional, friendly, and helpful tone with every interaction.

Problem Resolution

  • Investigate and resolve customer issues related to orders, payments, or product concerns.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment.
  • Document recurring issues and share feedback with management and software teams for process improvement.

Order & Returns Management

  • Assist customers in initiating returns or exchanges.
  • Process adjustments, refunds, or replacements in line with company policy.
  • Monitor open cases and ensure follow-through until resolution.

General

  • Use Zokos' proprietary rScan system and other tools to track orders and maintain records.
  • Provide feedback on improving customer-facing workflows.
  • Collaborate with other team members in a respectful, solutions-focused manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to learn and use software systems (experience with CRM or ticketing systems a plus).
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on providing solutions.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • A team player who treats others with respect, honesty, and sincerity.

Preferred Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or higher a plus.
  • 1+ year of customer service experience (retail, call center, eCommerce, or warehouse-related preferred).
  • Familiarity with startup or fast-paced environments is a plus.
