Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Insurance Defense Legal Assistant to support our legal team in managing complex insurance defense cases. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, legal research capabilities, and familiarity with various areas of law including personal injury, workers' compensation, and litigation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic law office environment, providing essential administrative and legal support to attorneys handling insurance defense matters.

Duties

  • Assist attorneys with legal case management, including document review, filing, and organization within case management systems such as LexisNexis, Westlaw, and My Case.
  • Draft and proofread legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Manage electronic and physical filing systems ensuring proper document management and retrieval.
  • Perform data entry tasks related to case files, client information, and court documentation.
  • Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and other parties through professional phone etiquette for interviews and scheduling.
  • Support project management activities related to ongoing litigation or legal projects.
  • Transcribe audio recordings and prepare summaries or reports as needed.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as calendar management, appointment scheduling, and maintaining organized files .
  • Provide executive administrative support to attorneys as required.

Qualifications

  • Paralegal experience or legal administrative experience in a fast-paced law office environment.
  • Strong research skills utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, My Case.
  • Familiarity with legal drafting, proofreading, transcription, and document review processes.
  • Knowledge of various practice areas such as personal injury law.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with professional phone etiquette.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment. This role is integral to the successful handling of insurance defense cases by providing comprehensive legal administrative support that ensures accuracy and efficiency throughout the litigation process.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50, $80,000.00 per year
