RMA is looking for a lead technician who can assist our fleet manager in the maintenance and repairs of our fleet. The Lead Technician is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the efficient and high-quality maintenance and repair of vehicles. This position combines advanced technical expertise with team management skills to oversee day-to-day operations. Essential Functions:

  • Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on all vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, brakes, etc.
  • Conduct inspections and road tests to confirm proper vehicle operation.
  • Led, mentor, and provide technical support to a team of automotive technicians.
  • Monitor the team's progress and ensure the timely completion of repairs and services.
  • Conduct quality checks on completed repairs to ensure they meet company and industry standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and labor hours.
  • Manage inventory levels for parts and tools.
  • Support the Fleet Manager with scheduling, reporting, and performance evaluations.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing engines, transmissions, brake systems, electrical systems, and HVAC.
  • Skilled in using diagnostic tools, equipment, and software
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on automotive repair experience, including advanced diagnostics and system repairs.
  • At least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role within an automotive service environment.
  • Proven experience working with various vehicle make and models, including domestic, foreign, and light-duty trucks.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
  • OEM training is strongly preferred
  • CDL license is preferred
