Job Title: Lab Analyst

Overview:

The Lab Analyst is responsible for performing certified laboratory analyses to support nuclear material characterization, environmental compliance, and metallurgical evaluations. This role requires strong technical expertise, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analytical testing across multiple disciplines:
  • Mass Spectrometry (ICPMS):
    Analyze isotopic and elemental composition of nuclear materials.
  • Wet Chemistry:
    Perform titrimetric, gravimetric, and chromatographic analyses for chemical composition and impurities.
  • Environmental Testing:
    Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Metallurgical Analysis:
    Assess material properties through metallography, mechanical, and corrosion testing.
  • Operate within radioactive material-controlled areas and maintain Nuclear Safety certification.
  • Safely handle hazardous materials using proper PPE and follow Industrial and Nuclear Safety guidelines.
  • Utilize precision laboratory techniques (pipetting, titration, weighing, volumetric dilutions).
  • Manage data using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and instrument control software.
  • Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment; perform troubleshooting and minor repairs.
  • Prepare reagents and standards; ensure proper storage and documentation.
  • Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and perform mathematical conversions.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders; contribute to a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with ICPMS, wet chemistry methods, and metallurgical testing preferred.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols in radioactive and hazardous material environments.
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques and data management systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Compensation:

$25/hr to $35/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
