The Role: Vice President, Partnerships
We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic business development leader to lead a small team that will manage the audience partnerships we've built to date and seek new revenue opportunities. The VP of Partnerships will play a crucial role in the overall business by expanding partnerships that align with Tunnl's business priorities, including a strong focus on driving revenue growth through our partner ecosystem. This individual will have significant business development experience in the advertising, data, and audience ecosystem. Further, this person will have built strong relationships with the largest players in the space and be a successful deal maker. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to forge impactful relationships with new partners, grow our existing enterprise-level partnerships, and deliver measurable new revenue generated via these collaborations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Marketplace Strategy: Lead the creation and execution of a comprehensive and future looking strategy that identifies key opportunities for growth within the data marketplace ecosystem. Stay ahead of industry trends and position Tunnl as a leader in audience data by aligning our offerings with evolving market demands.
  • Expand Partner Network: Identify, engage, and establish partnerships with top-tier organizations that can drive mutual value. Proactively seek new relationships with technology platforms, DSPs, SSPs, data providers, and media companies to grow Tunnl's partner ecosystem, expanding our reach and influence in the market.
  • Develop Revenue Maximization Strategies: Collaborate closely with internal teams and partners to develop and implement strategies that maximize revenue opportunities. Leverage both current and new partnerships to drive increased revenue, aligning partnership initiatives with Tunnl's overall business goals and growth targets.
  • Consult on Data and Technology Enterprise Needs: Develop and offer strategic insights on audience data, technology advancements, and best practices for the business. Collaborate with partners to understand their unique data and technology needs, positioning Tunnl's capabilities to solve their challenges effectively.
  • Be a Cross-Team Leader: Work closely with internal finance, product and tech teams to drive profitable and technically efficient partnerships that scale.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in the ad or martech industry: Proven experience with in-depth knowledge of market trends, technology advancements, and competitive landscape in the advertising and martech space.
  • Experience in business development: Demonstrated experience in driving revenue growth through large, often publicly-traded, organizations. ad sales and/or leading a high-performing sales team, with a track record of driving revenue growth through successful partnerships and sales strategies.
  • Technical Knowledge: Must have basic knowledge of the data flows and tools used to enable mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Proven track record of hitting goals and benchmarks: History of consistently meeting or exceeding ambitious revenue and partnership goals, showcasing the ability to thrive in a target-driven environment.
  • Highly motivated self-starter: A driven individual with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities, solving challenges, and achieving results independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working in a start-up setting: Adaptable and flexible with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, and comfortable wearing multiple hats to contribute to the growth and success of the organization.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills: Exceptional ability to build and nurture strong partnerships, with excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Strategic thinker with execution focus: Proven ability to develop high-level strategies and translate them into actionable plans that drive tangible results for the business.
  • Player/Coach mentality: Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on execution with leadership responsibilities, willing to roll up their sleeves and directly contribute to partnership development and revenue generation while guiding and mentoring direct reports and cross-team support.
