Position Summary:
Responsible for performing construction tasks that require some knowledge and expertise while adhering to quality standards and safety regulations.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Follow instructions from supervisors.
- Load, unload and move construction materials around site.
- Clean and prep work areas.
- Operate hand and power tools.
- Build and dismantle temporary structures.
- Prepare ground for construction with trenching and backfilling.
- Assist carpenters and foreman with carpentry tasks.
- Meet quality standards, building codes and conform to plans and specifications.
- Abide by all safety regulations and procedures on the jobsite.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Education: High School diploma or comparable experience.
Experience: Construction experience preferred.
Technical expertise: Ability to understand carpentry techniques, tools and materials; mathematical skills to measure, calculate and estimate accurately; ability to understand building plans and specifications; and ability to identify and resolve issues.
Personal Traits: Personal maturity, verbal and written, communication skills, teamwork, attention to detail, flexibility, initiative, planning and organization.
Must have:
- Physical strength and stamina with ability to lift 50 – 75 pounds.
- Own hand tools.
- Valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation.
