Fibematics, Inc. is a family-owned manufacturer and converter of premium nonwoven wiping products. Operating out of our 200,000+ sq. ft. facility in Philadelphia, we supply industrial, foodservice, healthcare, and janitorial distributors across the U.S. through both private label and our owned brands.

We are seeking an experienced
Director of Operations
to lead our production, supply chain, and process optimization initiatives as we scale to meet growing demand.

Role Description

The Director of Operations will oversee all day-to-day manufacturing and supply chain activities, ensuring world-class efficiency, quality, and throughput. Individual will work closely with ownership and department leads to modernize production systems, streamline processes, and drive data-backed decision-making.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and optimize production, logistics, inventory, and quality operations across a multi-line converting facility.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance output.
  • Establish and manage KPI dashboards for real-time visibility into performance metrics (throughput, OEE, downtime, waste, cost per unit).
  • Implement automation, technology, and workflow improvements to modernize operations.
  • Develop and mentor plant leadership, fostering accountability and a culture of operational excellence.
  • Partner with finance and sales leadership to align production capacity with business growth objectives.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven success leading teams through process improvement and scaling production.
  • Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma practices.
  • Experience with ERP or manufacturing management systems (JobBOSS experience a plus).
  • Analytical and data-driven mindset with excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on in a production environment.

Performance Milestones

First 90 Days:
Assess operations, establish baseline KPIs, identify key bottlenecks, and deliver a process improvement roadmap.

6–12 Months:
Implement measurable cost and efficiency improvements (throughput, downtime, waste reduction).

Long-Term:
Build a scalable operational framework that supports multi-brand growth and automation initiatives.
