Firearms Sales Associate

Location: Coles Gun Shop, Clearwater, FL

Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Reports To: Store Manager / Owner

Position Overview

Coles Gun Shop is seeking a knowledgeable, personable, and customer-focused Firearms Sales Associate to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys retail sales, values responsible firearm ownership, and takes pride in providing exceptional customer service in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service by assisting customers with firearms, ammunition, accessories, optics, and related products
  • Educate customers on safe handling, storage, and proper use of firearms
  • Accurately process firearm sales in compliance with all ATF, state, and local laws, including background check procedures
  • Complete required paperwork and maintain precise transaction records
  • Maintain organized, clean, and visually appealing sales displays and facility
  • Receive, stock, and merchandise inventory
  • Answer phone and in-store inquiries professionally
  • Support promotions, sales events, and special store initiatives

Qualifications

  • Retail sales experience preferred (firearms or specialty retail a plus)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of firearms, ammunition, and accessories (and willingness to learn what they don't know)
  • Ability to follow detailed compliance and safety procedures
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 40 lbs
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Ultimate Team Player

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old and a Florida Resident
  • Must be legally eligible to sell firearms
  • Ability to pass all required background checks
  • Availability to work weekends and some holidays
