Logistics Specialist/Customer Service

M Chemical Company, Inc. is a worldwide distribution company, with over 60 years of successful growth. We week an experienced Logistics/Customer Service Specialist who thrives in a high-volume environment requiring exceptional attention to detail and can meet strict deadlines.

We require that you live in San Bernardino County, CA. This is a 100% remote position, the closer to Victorville, CA, the better.

Outline of responsibilities:

• domestic purchasing and receiving

• Mexico shipments

• repacks

• warehouse transfers

• entering new orders

• adding new orders to the inventory spreadsheet

• sending new orders to the warehouse

• arranging transport with our logistics partners

• removing orders from the inventory spreadsheet after shipment is completed

• creating "packets" to send to accounting for sales order invoicing

• helping with Quality Control of outbound shipments

• checking draft documents

• checking pre-shipment photos

• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

1. Domestic Purchasing and Receiving

2. Procurement Knowledge: Understanding of sourcing, purchasing procedures, and managing vendor relationships.

3. Inventory Management: Familiarity with inventory systems, order management, and stock tracking.

4. Attention to Detail: Ability to track received goods, check for discrepancies, and ensure accurate records.

5. Mexico Shipments (Repacks & Warehouse Transfers)

6. Logistics and Shipping Knowledge: Understanding international shipping rules, particularly for Mexico, customs regulations, and freight options.

7. Warehouse Management Systems (WMS): Experience using software to track warehouse activity and organize shipments.
8. Cross-border Compliance: Knowledge of customs documentation and protocols for moving goods between countries.

9. Repackaging/Inventory Skills: Familiarity with repacking processes and ability to handle goods carefully to meet shipment requirements.

10. Entering New Orders

11. Order Management Software: Proficiency with order entry systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems).

12. Data Entry and Accuracy: High level of accuracy in entering order details, product codes, quantities, and shipping info.

13. Attention to Detail: Ability to spot discrepancies and handle orders efficiently.

14. Adding New Orders to the Inventory Spreadsheet

15. Excel Skills: Experience to intermediate level.

16. Data Management: Ability to organize and track orders and inventory in spreadsheets, ensuring data is up-to-date.

17. Sending New Orders to the Warehouse

18. Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate order details to the warehouse team, ensuring they have the correct products and quantities.

19. Logistics Coordination: Familiarity with warehouse operations to ensure smooth transitions from order entry to picking, packing, and shipping.

20. Arranging Transport with Logistics Partners

21. Carrier Management: Knowledge of how to coordinate with third-party carriers (trucking companies, freight forwarders).

22. Freight Costing and Optimization: Understanding of cost management and optimizing shipment methods for efficiency and budget.

23. Scheduling and Coordination: Ability to manage transport schedules, routes, and deadlines.

24. Removing Orders from the Inventory Spreadsheet After Shipment

25. Data Management & Accuracy: Ability to track orders from start to finish, ensuring updates to inventory and order records are made in real-time.

26. Attention to Detail: Ensuring that records are correctly updated when an order is shipped.

27. Creating "Packets" for Accounting (Sales Order Invoicing)

28. Accounting and Billing Knowledge: Familiarity with sales order processing and understanding how to prepare documents for invoicing.

29. Document Management: Ability to organize and create packets that contain all the necessary paperwork for accounting (e.g., order details, shipping info, and invoicing data).

30. Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate with the accounting team and ensure all documents are accurate and complete.

31. Helping with Quality Control Outbound Shipments (Checking Draft Documents & Pre-shipment Photos)

32. Quality Control Knowledge: Understanding quality control standards and being able to identify discrepancies or issues before shipment.

33. Attention to Detail: Ability to review draft documents and photos for accuracy and completeness.
34. Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve any issues in the shipment process, ensuring compliance with company standards.
