The Role
The Deputy Director, Government Business Development will play a pivotal role in growing the company's government portfolio. Working closely with senior leadership, this person will help shape and execute business development strategy across capture, proposals, and operational delivery.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands the federal acquisition landscape, thrives in fast-paced environments, and can balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leadership to drive strategic growth within the government sector.
- Manage day-to-day proposal development, capture efforts, and contract operations.
- Develop structured processes to ensure compliance and efficiency in delivery.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, finance, and marketing teams.
- Support pipeline development and manage partner and stakeholder relationships.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the federal innovation ecosystem and its key players.
- Represent the organisation in professional and government engagements.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience within U.S. Government contracting, defence, or national security.
- Proven background in program management, capture, or operations for dual-use or defence technology firms.
- Strong knowledge of the federal acquisition lifecycle (FAR, OTA, SBIR).
- Demonstrated success managing multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise across executive and technical teams.
- Familiarity with space, geospatial, or intelligence community programs preferred.
- Active or previous security clearance is advantageous.
