Position: Yard Administrator

Facility: Green Bay, WI

Reports to: Facility Manager

Date: May 2025

Summary

Performs a wide variety of administrative and clerical duties as Assistant to the Facility Manager including scheduling of key events, facilitating communications, and day-to-day operations.

  • Answer telephone; respond to questions from customers, vendors, and/or employees.
  • Code invoices in Datrose, accounts payable system
  • Oversee, assign and review work of Scale Clerk; provide training and direction as needed; back-up to the Scale Clerk
  • Write checks for materials purchased from customers.
  • Check day-end reports for accuracy.
  • Maintain inventory manuals for ferrous, nonferrous; input information into the SAI system, position reports and other related reports; provide current information to all appropriate parties.
  • Balance ferrous and nonferrous manuals with SAI system at month end
  • Process month-end cash sales for the yard and make bank deposits.
  • Run reports (SAI, spreadsheets and manual), used for managing the operation of the facility, on a scheduled basis and provide to appropriate individuals.
  • Handle ferrous, non-ferrous and intercompany contracts, scan to Facility Manager
  • Schedule ferrous, non-ferrous loads
  • Complete any export documentation; take pictures of the load and email to appropriate individuals.
  • Responsible for Veriforce documentation
  • Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned

Safety:

Wear all necessary PPE while in the yard. Follows company safety standards at all times. Failure to follow standards, may result in loss of position.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required. Prefer specialized training equal to two years of college or an Associates' degree in Business Administration. At least 2 years experience working as a cashier in a retail environment and 1-3 years experience working as an office or clerical assistant, including customer service experience, and working with managers in order to gain sufficient skill to perform the requirements of the position.

Basic math abilities preferred; must be able to multi-task and problem-solve when handling customers and vendors in person, on the phone, etc. Must be able to communicate with all levels of internal and external contacts.

General knowledge of difference between ferrous and non-ferrous material is a plus.
