The Early Learning Center at Yeshiva inSquirrel Hill is seeking an enthusiastiac Teacher for the School year. We are looking for a dedicated educator to guide a classroom of three- and four-year-old students through a variety of engaging and developmentally appropriate educational activities.

As a lead teacher, you will collaborate with your classroom team to provide high-quality care, playful learning experiences, and culturally relevant instruction in a safe and nurturing environment. Your primary focus will be to support children in developing fundamental skills, including socialization, independence, self-regulation, and classroom participation.

Responsibilities:
  • Introduce children to core early learning concepts such as numbers, letters, shapes, and colors.
  • Implement creative, hands-on teaching methods, including artistic expression, free play, and storytelling.
  • Develop and follow a curriculum that meets early childhood education standards and Pre-K Counts guidelines.
  • Foster positive social interactions and collaborative play among students.
  • Encourage respect, self-discipline, and effective classroom behavior.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized learning environment.
  • Set up materials and workspaces for class activities.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and provide progress updates.
  • Utilize best practices in early childhood education.
Requirements:
  • PA PK-3 Educator License
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • Experience teaching Pre-K age children
  • Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate teaching methods
  • Excellent classroom management, patience, enthusiasm, and empathy
  • Ability to resolve conflicts among children effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of ECERS (Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Familiarity with Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold
